February Blog Challenge

A new year and a new type of blog challenge for us over at Kraftyhands. This year instead of choosing an event or occasion theme for our challenges we've decided to go for a colour and shape challenge instead. This means there is more scope for play and experimentation in your projects.

In each challenge this year you'll find a colour and shape tag chip, those are the colours and shapes to incorporate into your projects, whether they are cards, scrapbook pages or for the first time, art journal pages too!

To be considered as a winner you must use at least one Kraftyhands branded product and the winner will be picked at random using will receive a £10 gift voucher to spend in our shop or on our website.

You can still play along if you don't have any Kraftyhands products, you won't be eligible for the £10 prize but you could be chosen as a runners up and will be given an honourable mention!

So lets see what our very talented DT have come up with using the new prompt for February.

In Deepest Sympathy

Hi there
A little more inspiration for you taken this time from the In Sympathy When Words Aren`t Enough CD from

I made a 8"x8" scalloped card into a Gatefold card. I copyed and paste pages 5 and 6 into Serif Craft Artist Pro to resize to fit the 8x8 card. Printed of both pages and cut out all elements I needed to make the card. Attached the 2 halves on each gatefold with double sided tape. Die cut a Spellbinders die and attached the topper to the centre with 3d foam pads then attached both to the left side gatefold with doublesided tape. Cut out the lillies from another topper and attached with 3d foam pads to the right side gatefold.
Printed off the purple damask backing paper, cut to size and attached inside with the verse topper.

Hope you enjoyed this inspiration. Yon see more inspiration for this cd in the gallery HERE

Till the next time.

Make it - Life Doesn't Have to be...

We're making a different type of card today using a stamp from IndigoBlu, some stencils and just inks. You can create some really effective colourful backgrounds just with inks and a couple of stencils that are both beautiful and unique. Team these up with a well chosen sentiment and a focal image and you're good to go!
The main focal stamp is the "Miss Austen" stamp from IndigoBlu which is available to purchase from our website to view simply click the image above.

Other resources used:

TCW Harlequin Stencil

Summer of `59 cd Inspiration

Hi there
Hope you all had a great Christmas and  an even better New Year.
My inspiration this time is taken from the Summer of `59 cd available HERE.

I printed of both pages and cut out all elements. I cut round where marked and folded the card on the dotted line so the card would stand up. I attached the backing paper and attached red double sided tape and sprinkled with blue glitter. I coloured a white doily with a blue pro-marker and attached the topper to this with 3d foam pads which was then glued to the card. I decoupaged the umbrella and finished off with the sentiment.

There are more samples from this cd in the Kraftyhands gallery for you to look at.

You can see all the cards I have made at

Also if you have been interested in the Create It Magazines by Kraftyhands in the past, Issue 6 is now available to pre-order at £12.99 HERE.

Till the next time.
